Spotlight Youth Theatre Company have joined forces with The London Academy Of Music And Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) enabling us to offer private lessons and examinations for children aged 5 and up.
LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies. LAMDA have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years, and their qualifications have helped hundreds of thousands of candidates of all ages and abilities develop lifelong skills.
LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. LAMDA’s ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.
At the heart of LAMDA examinations is the recognition that the qualifications are for everyone. Across the globe, LAMDA examinations unite learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultures in enthusiasm for the English language and a desire to develop skills for life.
Every LAMDA examination taken and passed holds a UCAS point. UCAS points are held on your permanent record and help students to get into more prestigious colleges and universities. The more UCAS points you gain the better this is for students when deciding their futures, and if you want to take a performing arts path these will hold great merit when applying for performing arts courses.
Many distinguished and accredited actors that we all know and love took LAMDA courses when training, John Lithgow, Benedict Cumberbatch and Maureen Lipman are to name but a few.
